The goal

Hypoport's aim is to create an outstanding working environment with a unique atmosphere. Through this measure, the company aims to gain a competitive advantage and hopes to attract new employees while optimizing the use of space.

The challenge

Like many other companies, Hypoport was faced with the challenge of adapting to the changes of recent years. Experience gained before the pandemic no longer played a role. Traditional workplace concepts were no longer sufficient. To make flexibility and efficiency a top priority, our client needed to find new ways to design their working environments.

The challenge they had to face

  • Hybrid Work has long been an integral part of the corporate culture

  • Flexible "home office days as required" model

  • Company premises often remained unused during the pandemic

  • New workplace concepts, experience before the pandemic obsolete

The need for a new work concept

  • Switch from fixed desks to desk sharing

  • Possibility to sublet offices and reduce office space costs

  • Increasing cultural representation through agile, modern and digital office buildings

  • Need for talented employees due to continuous company growth

The importance of a well-thought-out desk-sharing concept.

The change goes far beyond the mere transition from fixed to flexible desks. Employees were confronted with a variety of new challenges: How do I find my desk? Where do I store my stuff? Managing such a flexible environment is a whole new world - both for employees and for real estate managers. Therefore, Hypoport aimed for more than just a desk booking app: They wanted an app that covered all facets of this new working model.

After comparing various all-in-one workplace solutions, Lennart Goschin opted for Thing-it:

"We chose Thing-it because the platform outperformed all competitors in our scoring - it was the workplace solution with the best usability, the broadest range of use cases and it can be easily integrated with additional functions."

The solution

In close cooperation with Thing-it and its implementation partner, e-shelter security GmbH, Hypoport has worked to provide its employees with a modern working environment. The innovative Thing-it app enables flexible booking of desks and rooms, access control and locker management. The roll-out began in the MY.B office in Berlin. A week later, the office in Bayreuth and other locations in Germany followed suit. This strategic partnership strengthens Hypoport's position as an employer and helps to meet the needs of its employees in the best possible way.

Hypoport is creating an improved workplace experience for its employees:

  • Flexibility in the ad-hoc booking of meeting rooms and workstations

  • Quickly find free resources in the area

  • Spontaneous access to more resources that are available again thanks to space utilization analysis

  • Possibility to store private items in a locker even without a fixed workplace

  • Convenient access control via smartphone

The result

Thing-it's space occupancy dashboards have helped to right-size the office space and reduce Hypoport's costs. As the data confirmed a low average occupancy rate, part of the office was leased to another company. With Thing-it, Hypoport has successfully established hybrid working with desk sharing. The app is Hypoport's digital touchpoint in an agile workplace that is tailored to users' needs. Employees book a space and work how and where they want: From creative brainstorming in the living area to confidential discussions in meeting rooms.

"Thing-it and e-shelter security have helped Hypoport to create an office space that inspires employees to innovate, collaborate and enjoy working in our company. This sends a strong signal to current and future employees," concludes Lennart Goschin.
